  This was the 9th time we've visited Grand Cayman and the second time we've stayed at Gardens of the Kai, a lovely complex with its own beach and pool We've stayed in #1 and #6, and both are spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. The location is about 45-55 minutes from the airport, away from the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Beach. The island's North Side is quiet and peaceful. There is a restaurant, Kaibo, within walking distance of the complex and a few others that require a 20-minute or so drive, and there are grocery stores about 15-20 minutes away.

  This was our first time to Grand Cayman. We have stayed in many VRBO properties in the past however this property was well appointed and they seemed to think of everything. The furniture fit our needs well (loved the large sectional couch) which is hard to find. TONS of closet space to put luggage away. Kitchen was well stocked and everything worked as it should. This house was closest to the beach and unobstructed view which we loved. Felt like you were on your own private beach. Community was quiet and safe. Best food was at Over the Edge (15 min drive). Only downside was the drive to go to other beaches, SMB, George Town, and the airport. Times ranged from 30 min to 1 hour each way. Star Fish Point was IMO the nicest beach on the whole island and only a 5 minute bike ride away. Loved going and having the beach to ourselves. Overall great house and location and great service/communication.

  Three Little Birds was just as pictured with updated, comfortable furniture. We were able to make many meals in the fully equipped kitchen. It fit our family of 5 perfectly. We loved being able to step right outside onto the beach to snorkel and float around. We rented a car and explored the beautiful island. Kaibo and Starfish point are waking distance. The vacation home was relaxing and beautiful!! We would highly recommend and would love to come back!

  We loved staying at Gardens of the Kai! The location is great - we enjoyed the quieter side of the island. It was super convenient to go to Rum Point to get a boat to Stingray City. We also went fishing with a guide that picked us up at the Kano dock. We did a lot of kayaking from shore - we kayaked to the bio bay, starfish point, and to a great snorkeling spot offshore. We loved sitting in the screen porch for morning coffee and late night drinks. Gardens of the Kai was a beautiful area and so relaxing.

  A couple of cautions. Both I and a relative hit our heads on the tree on the right from a branch sticking down. One of the SUP doesnt have a fin The kayaks dont have backrests (we fixed on but not reliable).

  The beach on this side isn't as clear, blue and beautiful as SMB but the wildlife makes it a better location in our opinion. So many crabs and lizards, neat fish in the water and beautiful sunsets.
  
  The house itself is gorgeous and well-stocked. Our property manager and cleaning lady helped us transition from the other side of the island and were amazing. We would absolutely choose to rent this house again on our next trip to GC. Rent a car, because you have to travel but the quiet and calm of Cayman Kai is so worth it!

  4th stay in this villa. 2017, 19, 22 & 23. Villa was lovely as usual, but not as clean as prior visits. I was told that the owners were staying there before our visit, so I don't know whether they that had "cleaned" or housekeeping. In the past it has been spotless, however this stay, it had not been cleaned to standard. Stove, mirrors, and hair on the floors behind doors. The Gardens of the Kai complex need to address the tree and bush roots on the beach as it is taking over what once was a pristine beach. This was apparent last year and now it is 75% worse that then. Very overgrown. Owners/renters from other villas OUTSIDE of the complex walk there dogs daily on this private beach and although they do pick up the poop, they cannot pick up the urination. Dogs are walked off the leash and left to roam around the properties and when seeing people, some are running up and barking at them. In addition,on our first full day, a person who I presumed was the Gardens of the Kai manager came over to the villa and was taking photos with her phone. she asked me whether I was wondering what she was doing, then goes on to question me about how many people are staying in the villa vs. how many beach chairs that were in front of it and said that they were the Gardens of Kai seating for all to use although seating was in plenty, and no-one was using. She told me to put them back" if we were not using them and I told her she is welcome to them and was shocked by the hostility because the seating must have been there for sometime and we had only just arrived. I write this review in hopes that the issues raised receives attention, especially the beach as that is in serious need of TLC to get it back to the standard it was. I hope that if next time we visit, our stay will be like it was back in 2017, 19 & 22. (A closing note... photo of the pristine beach is not as it is now, it is overgrown with tree roots all along it.

  My wife and I had 18 wonderful days in January 2024 and loved every minute of it! It was a great location and we hope to return every year. The unit was very clean, had lots of beach towels, lounge chairs on the beach just steps from the front door. We kayaked to see the bio-luminescent and enjoyed many great meals walking across the street to the Kaibo restaurant.

The townhouse was very well stocked and had everything we needed. Every day we made a new discovery in the water! (starfish, conchs, lobsters, tropical fish) We loved having access to kayaks to head off to Starfish Point and Rum Point. We had a great time going on an excursion to the Bioluminescent Bay. If you love relaxation and nature, this is the location for you.

  This was a first time visit to the Cayman Islands and we knew we wanted to be on the quieter side of the island. This villa was amazing. Literally only 5 steps from the door to the sand and about 15 more to dipping toes in the water! While we did not use the bikes there were two available as well as paddle board and kayaks. The villa was exactly as described and it had everything you would need. Kaibo Resort is a short walk away and the food was very good. We saw amazing marine life on our beach such as stingray and starfish. NO need to snorkel off a boat when you can snorkel from the beach. I would highly recommend this villa and we are looking forward to staying here again!

  We stayed a week in July at Gardens of the Kai Unit 1. The unit was fantastic. Very clean and modern. AC worked well. They provided snorkel equipment, 2 kayaks (one of which could accommodate 2 adults and 1 child) and 2 bikes. The house is one of the closest to the water which was great. There are shade trees in front of the unit on the beach which were good for the very hot temps. The unit even came with suntan lotion, laundry detergent, bug spray, charcoal for the private BBQ out front and kids beach toys. The beach was beautiful with very few people on it. The water was calm, bathtub warm and very clear. We snorkeled in front of the property and saw lobsters, starfish, and other fish however, it's best to go on a snorkel trip if you want to see a lot of fish. There was a lot of sea grass and anemones so you need to be careful where you stand and where you enter/exit the water. Ther salt water pool was very nice. Kaibo restaurant is a 2 minute walk. Rums Point was closed for construction. The nearest grocery store was a 15 minute drive. It's best to stock up on groceries at Hurley's near the airport because of the lower prices and wider selection. The area of the condo was somewhat remote so if peace and quiet are what you're after, this is a good place for you.
